Itinerary
Previous Day
Meeting in San Martín de los Andes. Pre-trip meeting with the guide to review the program and safety guidelines for the journey. Bike check.
Day 1 | Villa La Angostura - Villa Traful
Meeting with the guide, bike check, and departure from the hotel along secondary roads towards the Correntoso River and Lake area.
From there, the route joins the famous Seven Lakes Road, National Route 40, one of the region’s most iconic stretches. Approximately 20 km are covered before reaching the junction with a gravel road that leads towards Villa Traful.
Day 2 | Villa Traful - Meliquina
An early start leads onto a winding gravel road, with elevation gains that do not exceed 100 meters. The route follows the shores of Lake Traful to the confluence with the Limay River. From there, the journey continues along the well-known Paso Córdoba. The first 10 km of gravel road are relatively flat, followed by the ascent to the first narrow pass. Further ahead, a descent is followed by another climb towards the main pass. Surrounded by colorful rock formations, the route then descends for nearly 12 km to the Caleufú River, where there is time for a short break to rest and enjoy a snack or lunch, depending on the arrival time.
The final 10 km continue towards Villa Meliquina.
Day 3 | Filo Hua Hum - Filo Hua Hum
After such a long day, we advise resting a bit more in the morning. We will start today’s trek slowly through a private farm towards a lake that can only be accessed on foot, Lake Nuevo.
The mountain trail goes through the valley with very soft ups and downs, and reaching this isolated spot is worth the effort. If the weather is good, before returning to our camp, we will be able to swim and walk a few extra meters to the edge of Lake Falkner.
Once back at the camping site, we will relax and enjoy some beers by the lake, before starting the fire for tonight’s dinner.
Day 4 | San Martín de los Andes - Rosales Lagoon & Trompul
Rosales Lagoon and the Trompul area are located within Lanín National Park, just a few kilometers from San Martín de los Andes.
The day begins cycling from town into a network of natural roads within the park, surrounded by remarkable landscapes that are ideal for photography.
The route continues towards the Curruhinca Mapuche Community, following the northern shore of Lake Lácar along old forest roads.
After a section with several ups and downs, the ride reaches La Islita Beach, where there is time to relax and enjoy a swim in the lake.
The return to San Martín de los Andes is made by bicycle.
Day 5 | San Martín de los Andes – Queñi Area
The day begins with a short transfer from San Martín de los Andes to the starting point of the ride. The route crosses extensive coihue forests, following rolling terrain and sections that run alongside the lakeshores.
During the second part of the day, the ride reaches Lake Queñi, where there is time for a break and a short walk to the Queñi Hot Springs.
This unique spot features crystal-clear waters with natural temperatures of up to 39°C (102°F), making it the perfect place to relax and soothe tired muscles.
The route is demanding, with a moderate to high level of difficulty, combining gravel roads, technical trails through the Valdivian rainforest, stream crossings, and steep climbs.
From there, the return journey to San Martín de los Andes is made by vehicle, bringing both the day and the program to an end.
